The DJI M400 drone tethered system, it converts single‑phase AC power into high‑voltage DC power and delivers it to the onboard power module through a high‑performance nickel‑alloy power cable, providing continuous power for the DJI Matrice 400 RTK drone,  enables up to 12 hours of safe, continuous flight endurance.

This tethered system is a DJI SDK-based tether solution that is deeply compatible with the DJI M400 drone. The tether system communicates directly with the aircraft, enabling real-time monitoring of tether status and live display of operating data, which significantly enhances the safety of tethered flights. Through the DJI Pilot 2 application, operators can directly control and manage the tether system, achieving seamless integration of flight control and tether operation.

The DJI M400 tether system integrated cable reel unit combines the ground power supply, high‑performance power cable, and automatic cable winding/unwinding mechanism in one highly compact module. It supports both backpack and hand‑carry deployment. While maintaining excellent portability, the ground power unit also ensures fast automatic retraction and release of up to 110 meters of cable. The mechanism effectively reduces impacts and sharp bends on the cable, providing reliable protection and greatly extending cable service life.

The tether system consists of 3 main components:

  2. Ground Power Station (Integrated manual/automatic cable reel unit )

Deep Integration with DJI Matrice 400 Series

Compatible with the DJI Matrice 400 series, the system connects via the original tethered battery interface, requiring no modification to the drone.


Long-Duration Safe Power Supply

The system converts single-phase AC power into stable high-voltage DC output and delivers it to the onboard power module through a nickel-alloy tether cable, providing continuous power to the drone.
The onboard backup battery is reserved for emergency use and power-loss protection, ensuring safe flight and landing in case of ground power interruption.


Isolated Power Design for Drone and High-Power Payloads

The onboard power module provides electrical isolation between the power supplied to the drone and the power supplied to other high-power payloads, effectively ensuring the safety of the aircraft’s power system.
The onboard power module powers the drone directly but does not charge the drone’s battery.


Deep System-Level Control and Monitoring

Fully integrated into the DJI ecosystem, the tethered system can be monitored in real time via the DJI Pilot 2 app on the DJI remote controller, providing live status of tethered operation.


Integrated Cable Reel and Ground Power Unit

The hybrid manual/automatic cable reel unit highly integrates the ground power supply, high-performance power cable, and automatic cable winding/unwinding mechanism, balancing portability and robustness.
